Maranui FM is a low powered radio station run by the students of Lyall Bay School in Wellington. It was set up as part of an Enterprise for Education project which began in 2007.
The radio station was opened on June 20, 2008 by Annette King, the then Minister of Health.

Enterprise for Education Goals
1. For schools to identify a project and use an action research model to reflect on the process they have undertaken.

2. For students to develop enterprising attributes within a variety of authentic contexts.

3. For teachers to trial an approach using the NZ curriculum to guide their process.

4.For local businesses and other community enterprises to share their knowledge and skills with students and teachers.

5. For local businesses to build their knowledge of the curriculum through their involvement with local schools.
